Giant Horse catches olympic security forces on wrong foot

As greek security officials admitted, they were quite surprised when they found a giant wooden horse not far from the Olympic stadium late last week. The sudden appearance of the wooden structure sheds new doubts on whether security measures will be tight enough to protect athletes from around the world.

“When you’re spending over $1.5 billion in security, quite frankly, somebody shouldn’t be able to wheel a giant wooden horse right up to your stadium,” said one U.S. official today.

But greek officials also see the bright side of the event, as they think the giant horse will undoubtedly enhance viewership. Some officials go as far as recommending to wheel the structure into the stadium.

“I say let the horse in,” someone said. “What’s the worst that could happen?”

And why not, indeed?
